Please! Do you know how you can tell when Valentine is lying? If his lips are moving and words can be heard, he’s lying. “Vitriolic Verbal Vomit Valentine” says whatever comes to his alleged mind. He speaks with no regard for the truth or accuracy of his comments. He simply wants to be the center of attention. Like a 4-year-old he craves the lime light. And, like a 4-year-old, Valentine denies any accountability or responsibility for his actions or his comments. “I didn’t do that!” “It wasn’t me!”
So, don’t buy into anything he says about anything, particularly his coaches. Okay, so he didn’t get to pick his own coaches. Lucchino foisted these guys on Valentine and the rest is history. I wouldn’t believe Valentine no matter what he said. Just a word to the wise. The coaches are not the cause of Valentine’s woes. Valentine is the cause. He is the culprit.

It is Known Fact that Theo has never been wrong, and that the entire success of the Red Sox organization during his tenure was his doing and his doing alone. Even the players acquired/signed before he got there are his doing–well, at least the ones who were successful. Any failures were strictly Duquette’s.

Based on this Received Wisdom, if Crawford and Lackey were not successful signings, logic says they must not have been His signings.

As amusing as it is to hear Bobby Valentine point fingers at certain individuals and situations,the blame falls squarely on the Red Sox front office. they were too quick to pull the trigger on letting Terry Francona go in the first place, and what goes on in the club house is not any different than anything that goes on in any other club house in MLB. A late season collapse could happen to any team ,it’s happened to the Dodgers on several occasions,In Brooklyn and L.A. we all witnessed what happened to the Yankees,for some odd reason teams go through a collective hitting slump.It’s too bad the RED SOX upper management started running around like Chicken Little ,and aired their dirty laundry in the press,instead of sorting through their problems rationally, if they would have done that ,this Bobby Valentine chapter would have never have never taken place!Hey they could have kept Francona and paid $100,000 to the McCourts Boston based Rasputin, to channel positive thoughts to the Red Sox line up.

This is going to be a lightning rod for all of New England and Red Sox Nation. Sox are beginning talks with Ortiz on a contract and this guy comes out with this? Wow!
I will give him some slack on his coaches. They probably are the connection between the manager and the players and if one or more were backstabbing V and lying about him to players, then that is a problem. I am waiting for V to say whether he truly had any say in who his coaches were to be. That is crucial as to whether he has any credibility here.

I actually thought Valentine was going to be the antidote for that team that just got fat and content with themselves. You saw how he brought the most mismanged organization in baseball (at that time) Texas to a second place finish and how he won a pennant with the Mets with not a lot of star power. He just became unraveled. Everyone got exposed in this – players, management and Valentine.

Ortiz should not have been playing. It isn’t like this was a hamstring. All you have to do is look at Ryan Howard.

Lucchino forced the hire. It was possibly the worst hiring decision made in Boston in decades, possibly rivaled only by Almighty, All-Knowing Theo signing John Lackey and Carl Crawford.

And yet, nothing happened to Lucchino. He seems to be as firmly entrenched as any lying, back-stabbing corporate weasel.
