APBA Guy and Buckfutter –

It is true that San Francisco benefits greatly from strong winds that disperse the air pollution. However, this doesn’t mean that they are not polluters. They just pollute and someone else (San Joaquin Valley, Salinas Valley) gets the penalties for their pollution. If you have ever been in San Francisco on a hot summer day (over 90) with no wind, it looks a lot like the LA basin with the smog as you look out over the bay toward Oakland. APBA Guy….this is the reality. Buckfutter….I hope you can understand the terms I used. :^)

As a baseball fan, I absolutely love this. It looks like he really just loves that he’s playing baseball right here. Its a beautiful thing. The Giants proved to be a force this week, and, as much as I really hate that they stomped the Cards like they did, it was pretty incredible to watch. Congrats Scutaro and good luck in the Series guys!

Buckfutter-

I know it is difficult for the simple of mind to grasp this, but California is what is known as a “big” state. That’s a technical term, meaning “large”. In air pollution terms, which rain would capture, San Francisco is nowhere near the top in city rankings. Los Angeles is #1, proudly, with San Bernadino (in LA County) # 2 in the US, both are, by a large margin, ahead of the # 3 city, and LA is way in front of San Bernadino.

But LA is 450 miles away from SF, the same, roughly, as between DC and Boston.

San Francisco is windy. That’s why air pollution doesn’t linger there, despite the population. It’s so windy that the America’s Cup yacht race is being held just off Pier 39 in San Francisco Bay. You may have read that one of the Oracle boats capsized in the Bay because of strong winds. Then again, reading comprehension is obviously not a strength for you.

Now, as a simple person, you are probably asking yourself, what do strong winds have to do with Marco Scutaro and air pollution?

As I explained above, the winds disperse the air pollution. Disperse is a big word, I know, and that can be a struggle for someone like you, but keep this in mind:

San Francisco is not even in the top 25 cities in California for air pollution, let alone in the US.

Try to keep up with reality.
