Hope Rizzo doesn’t repeat his signing of Brad Lidge. They have several RH relievers already and, as usual, there should be a glut of relievers on the market. Rizzo should be able to add depth with a reliever of two who are better, and less expensive, than Capps.

Although in Gardenhire’s defense, he was there when they got Joe Nathan to be their closer; he of the 1 career save at that point.

The cynic in me envisions Andrew Friedman signing him to a one-year deal where Capps miraculously becomes the AL’s best closer in 2013.

At which point I will cry myself to sleep each night into a very worn Homer Hanky.

Obviously, this is just the first step of the Twins’ front office tshtick him up long-term in something like a 3 year 15 million dollar “team friendly” deal.

Funny if the Nats signed him too and do it again with another team. He could definitely relieve some of Clippards innings and join an already strong bullpen. Doubtful since our young players pitched well out of the bullpen but not out of the realm of possibilites.
