A Tigers fan in Detroit is offering a house in exchange for tickets to Game 3 of the World Series.

As you might have guessed, though, it’s not much of a house. CBS Detroit’s Sara did a little detective work to find out that the offer, made on Craigslist, is for a three-bedroom fixer-upper   in Detroit that would go for somewhere in the $2,500-$5,000 range on the open market.

It usually rents as Section 8 housing and those who have gone to check out the property say that the house is missing some doors, windows and a toilet.

Still, it may be a good deal at that. The fan is reportedly willing to deal it even for standing room tickets, and a pair of those can be had for $500 at the moment.

They must not have any cash for tickets so why not just pawn the homes title & buy some dugout seats with the 5 grand.

You can buy a 3br house for 5 grand in Detroit…holy shit.

Seriously, where have you been? Read some things on the real estate market why dont ya. Detroit is the worst housing market in America. This whole thing is being offered because the fans cant sell these properties for even the so called “going rate” its that bad up there. So why not get some tickets and end the nightmare that comes with owning such a crappy property.

Hah I’ve been in NY where 5 grand gets you bleacher seats for a Yankees game on a Tuesday.

Yeah, and you know what they say, a loser and his money are soon parted. Anyone paying anywhere near that much for Yankee tickets is a loser.

      • deadeyedesign23 - Oct 27, 2012 at 2:08 PM

Well that was hyperbole. In reality those seats are probably 20 bucks. I’m not a Yankee fan but I love baseball so I pay what I have to pay to see it.

Some people really don’t think and/or look outside of their own little world DC.
For them…it makes “reality” much easier to deal with.

A house worth $5000 is not even the bottom of the market. Things are so bad there that whole neighborhoods have been leveled and are returning to wilderness.

    • alan3008 - Oct 27, 2012 at 1:33 PM

Yes, and then probably get robbed and get your ass shot off as well. No thanks.

I once went to a day game in Detroit. By the time I got back to my car, three prostitutes had offered to blow me. Amongst them, they had 8 teeth.

    • dcfan4life - Oct 26, 2012 at 11:42 PM

You must have accepted the 3rd ones advances or you would have seen the 4th 5th and 6th prostitute…lol.

      It’s funny cause it’s true

And you took the time to count their teeth?

  7. jordanismyidol - Oct 27, 2012 at 2:45 AM

Yeah sell your home for some tickets to a baseball game. Thats pretty smart. And then wut? Live in a dumpster?

    • alan3008 - Oct 27, 2012 at 1:35 PM

Those houses double for dumpsters, so any dumpster will do.

Maybe you’re not used to winning. In America, the winners set fire to their neighborhoods.

    Go Team.
