Oct 27, 2012, 7:48 PM EDT

Tigers slugger Miguel Cabrera, who finished the regular season ranking first in the American League in batting average, home runs and RBI, will be presented with an actual “Triple Crown” before Game 3 of the World Series on Saturday night in Detroit. ESPN’s Darren Rovell provides the first look:

Miggy is disappointed it’s not 3 bottles of Crown Royal.

      Don’t forget the car service.

    Congrats to Cabrera! Well done!

    Trout >>> Miggy

Trout is actually having a better playoffs.

It’s amazing how quickly our perception of a superstar athlete can change. It was just last preseason when he was vilified for too many “triple crowns.”

  5. Roger Moore - Oct 27, 2012 at 8:33 PM

At some point, he should go to bat wearing that thing instead of a batting helmet. Not in the Series, obviously, but it would be a good joke during spring training.

I wonder if he’ll wear it out around town…

  7. dfh3456 - Oct 27, 2012 at 8:36 PM

I heard the Royals have countered by letting Jeff Francouer wear one of the tin Burger King hats.

Seriously all the money and resources MLB has and this is best design they could come up with? Ugly.

That crown may be worth more than the entire city of Detroit

    • zzavisa - Oct 28, 2012 at 6:01 AM

Nice. You’re probably worth a piece of shit.

    • juanhughjazz - Oct 28, 2012 at 11:19 AM

Obviously never spent time in Detroit. Isn’t is Baltimore’s or St Louis’ turn to be dead horse.

  10. sawxalicious - Oct 27, 2012 at 9:18 PM

If he wears that crown around town, I guarantee he won’t have to pay for any drinks…all kidding aside, he accomplished a tremendous achievement this year. Congrats, Miguel!

  11. Jeff - Oct 27, 2012 at 9:36 PM

Too bad a triple crown doesn’t guarantee a World Series ring.

  12. crankyfrankie - Oct 27, 2012 at 9:58 PM

    What a gaudy mess.
