I challenge anyone to say they have spent more cash on Astro shirts, hats, jerseys and misc. over the last 33 years than me…. I know it’s sad, but….

The shooting star jersey of the Dierker era is the fans favorite. You can’t give us wins, at least listen to us and give us the look we want.

Love the new logo. Old school…yes. But moreso…it’s very neat and clean.

Have people forgotten how repulsive fashion was in the 80s? What’s with everyone digging up their ugly old uniforms? Then again–it isn’t nearly as bad as those old Anaheim Angels uniforms with the ridiculous wings or the purple D’Backs uniforms or the old Astros uniforms with the ugly brown stripes. Guess it could always be worse. I suppose uniform changes every other year are just a reality of the game at this point.

I remember when the White Sox switched over to their Good Guys Wear Black look in 1990 just as they were finally shedding off decades of mediocrity and ugly uniforms. At least this is an indicator that someone in the organization is finally making good decisions.

I like it. It’s classic, retro, simple, and clean. The lone star harkens to their Texas and aeronautical roots. I don’t like it when unis try to do too much (e.g. current Marlins, old Devil Rays, Astros circa 1970s and 80s).

I would love if this were old school beating new shool but this IS new school. Repurposing an old logo by chiseling the type an addin false dimension to the star is new school design. Honestly I think this thing is just lazy.

Nah, that boycott didn’t do anything….they had to wait until whatshisass couldn’t pay his bills before they could legally move in…..in any case, the bankruptcy was coming anyway, which is what really facilitated the change. I suppose one could argue that the boycott might have moved up the bankruptcy by one month….but probably not even that….with the amounts of money we’re talking about, selling a few K fewer tickets/game didn’t have much effect.

Except, they aren’t selling anyone on the idea that they will be competitive this year, are they?

Plus, look at the FA market…it’s full of fail. There just isn’t anything to spend money on.

The Astros are kind of like the collapsed economy, once people really looked at it, they realized it was much worse than they originally guessed and that it would take more effort and time to climb out of the hole than originally estimated.

Right here. A little on the fence. I would have liked something a fresher, but it certainly has its historical reference points. I personally like the linear broken star logo. But this gets the right colors and is grounded in Houston.

My question is, how will it look on a World Series pennant? I mean, that’s what it’s really about.
