Take away the home runs and Santana wasn’t too far from his career averages. Don’t sabermetricians discount home runs as somewhat lucky? Or unlucky in Santana’s case.

I hope that Baltimore signs Ervin Santana. In that park, he would be almost certain to once again lead the AL in home runs allowed.

These kind of guys are who the O’s are looking for. Veterans who aren’t superstars, but solid and get the job done. I hope Duquette makes a move with one of them.

The Angels would probably have to eat part of these contracts in order to trade either of them. It might just be cheaper to buy out their contracts.
