must be a newbie rangers bandwagon fan..astors have had this logo since the 60′s70′s… the original texas team in mlb.. the astros had the star in their uni’s before the rangers moved to texas from washington… texas rangers= chokingest team in texas sports history..

astros had that shade of blue before the rangers ever moved to texas..get that staright!!! astros original texas baseball team and first team to play a world series on texas soil. astros have a much more toried history than the now bandwagon rangers who are the most choking team in texas sports history!!!!

No you aren’t. But the Colt family retains legal rights to that name. They exercised them in 1965, and that’s why we have the Astros. But it was very timely, what with the space race and all in the ’60′s.

It’s a good design. Looks clean and classic (which of course it kind of is). The star tying Texas to space is neat, too.

My first thought was, “That looks like a recycled Rangers logo, with slight color changes.” I like it, even though there’s nothing that ties in to the name Astros.

I get they’re from the Lone Star state and a star makes sense…but I’m a little surprised they didn’t go for some branding that really differentiated them from the Rangers being that they are now in the same division as well.

Also…it was annoying enough when the Rangers went to the red caps & jerseys when they play the Angels…now we have the Astros wearing the same shade of blue against the Rangers.

In this day and age, it is almost impossible – and frankly unrealistic – to expect something of this magnitude be kept under wraps for any appreciable length of time (especially when you’re talking about Bud S. and his boob-headed minions)
