I was thinking something fairly similar. I’m a Wallace doubter, and I don’t think he’ll ever really get the hang of lefthanders. You don’t want a multi-year, because Singleton is coming up from AA. Although maybe at a reasonable price he makes sense as a DH. I could see a year (maybe two) of that. We already have the guys with the low averages. We need a guy who its it hard when he does hit it.

Reynolds isn’t worth it for 30 homers. .220 average, which is also how many times he’ll strike out. He’s bad with RISP and can’t move runners over. I’d gladly take someone who hits .270 with 12 homers and can hit to right field.

Considering the alternatives, I can see Jeff Luhnow giving Reynolds some play.
He could bring some valuable assets with him, including A.L. knowledge of pitchers in their new division.
His slumps aside ,(couldn’t be any worse than Brett Wallace, right?) a little power couldn’t hurt this team.
