The Twins need pitching for sure, but Haren is too expensive and has been injured. Terry Ryan is smart enough to avoid him…I think.

Understandably so, but you have to think that money is money is money, even if you’re a wealthy franchise. That money that they pay Pujols could have potentially brought in 2 very talented pitchers.

St. Louis is the last one laughing right now between…St. Louis and Anaheim. That’s all. Just the two of them. But still. They laugh.

Pitching, you’re probably right but the Angels signed Pujols in the first place because they got a ridiculously big TV contract last year.

Albert represents about an 8th of what they bring in a year just from the TV contract to put it in perspective.

Haren would be an a good target for the Twins, better than anyone they have and would give them a start on rebuilding a horrible pitching staff. It’s a long shot but its a start.

Maybe Albert can help justify his paycheck by pitching every 5th day until his arm comes home with the baseball on a relay throw.

Edwin Jackson isn’t even close to being on the same level as Greinke, let alone to make a ton of money as a free agent. He sucks. I would take Santana and Greinke and a Healthy Haren any day over Jackson. Let Washington overpay for him though, that would be great.

Dan Haren’s days as a dominant starter are through. His command isn’t good enough for his 88mph fastball to consistently get batters out.

I think the Angels are going to be a mess next year with their pitching AND the Pujols paychecks looming every 2 weeks.
