Taylor Teagarden did that this year when he hit a walk-off homer against Detroit. Adam Jones and I think it was Mark Reynolds ambushed him with pies, and he ON NATIONAL TELEVISION said “Oh (stool)”.

Let’s see…
He has issues in Pittsburgh. He has issues in Washington. He has issues in Milwaukee.
Not to mention he completely dissrespected one of the best players to ever play the game.

But that’s just “Nyjer being Nyjer.”***
Yeah…great guy.***
No issues whatsoever.***
Wonderful Clubhouse guy.***
Great teammate.***

Yet…the Brewers have “no intention to attempt to work out a new deal.”***

I’ll bet he goes to Tampa Bay and hits .280 in the playoffs for Maddon next season.

I wish every Brewer played the game with Nyjer’s drive and intensity. Some of his antics were a little over the top, but I still like him and hope he catches on somewhere and does well.

After the way he came one like a house on fire after the trade from Pittsburgh in 2009, Nats fans quickly embraced Nyjer for playing hard and showing hustle. Then in 2010 he slumped badly and started showing his true colors with repeated outbursts both on and off the field. By the end of spring training 2011 he was gone, traded for a ham sandwich named Cutter Dykstra, and almost nobody was sad to see him go.

The bottom line is that Morgan is not a good enough player to get away with acting like a total jerk when he’s slumping.

Sorry brewcrew but i wish i had one incident to cloud my judgement, but i have many. He started a pointless fight, he talked publicly against teammates, cried about being benched for superior younger talent, disrupted the locker room. We couldn’t get rid of him fast enough, and we gave him away for practically nothing. That alone tells you about what a problem he was in Washington. Oh wait Pittsburgh did the same thing when they traded him to us!!!

I soured on Nyjer a long time ago, and have the t-shirt to prove it. His antics were amusing when the Nats were a bad team, but when Jayson Werth came on board, that was it for clowns like Nyjer. I mean, Cutter Dykstra? Rizzo couldn’t get Nyjer out of the clubhouse fast enough, and we got Cutter Dykstra, LOL. OK, Nyjer had a good year in Milwaukee, but the comment I read on from the Brewers FO said it all, “we have no long term interest…”

Dcfan, you are ridiculous. As far as the swearing on tv thing goes, Steve covered that for me.he’s a career .280 hitter. He is not a bad player. He certainly isn’t a stud but he can play a good role for someone. You’re letting 1 incident cloud your judgment, not that we all haven’t done that.

And they put a microphone in his face while he was still celebrating that hit. Not the smartest idea by the network, in my opinion.

He’s an entertainer more than a major league baseball player. There’s nothing wrong with that. Of course, just the fact that he’s managed to play in parts of 6 years means he’s not a bum. A bad year at 31 when he already had limited skills wasn’t going to end well, though.

He’ll fall out of baseball and be mostly forgotten outside of 2011 Brewers recap videos. That’s what happens to most players. But to have such anger toward him seems odd for a fan of the game.

And he cussed up a storm on live tv after that game winning hit. Only guy ive ever seen do that. The guy had issues in Washington, issues in Pittsburgh, now as a hero cant survive one bad season in Milwaukee. Hes the only fast guy in the league who cant steal bases. His defense is ok, and he can’t bunt or get on base. Throw on his attitude issues, and this comes as no surprise. I wouldn’t wish a guy like him well. He got paid a lot to do very little.

He had the game winning hit that sent the Crew to the NLCS and for that I’ll always remember the guy. Plus he was pretty entertaining too. He was pretty bad this past year though so he’s gotta go. Just doesn’t do any 1 thing well enough to keep him around. Hope ya latch on somewhere else Nyjer, I liked ya.
