Is anyone really surprised ? Obviously the contract was ill advised from day 1 and the Yanks had to see this coming.I guess it’s just written off as the cost of doing business when cost is just not a problem. I think it more than likely that the same scenario will play out with Albert Pujols and others over the comin years.
