Astros are down to 2 of the 4 players obtained for Bourn, as they dumped Abreu earlier…..why does anyone ever expect to win a trade with the Braves ? I think the Rangers (Texiera deal) and the Cardinals (Wainright) are the only ones to ever best the Braves and actually get good players back…..

Actually don’t blame Wade too much for this one…..there is always a chance that a talented young player might grow up and blossom when given a fresh start in a new organization, especially a talent-barren one like the Astros….unfortunately, I think we all got the picture when Schafer responded to his “fresh start” by getting busted for grass in the off season, then floating through the season with his usual blend of nagging injuries interspersed with indifferent play…..some of the worst body language I’ve seen in MLB since Jeff Weaver hung ‘em up……

On the other hand….I do hold Ed Wade responsible for Brett Wallace; when not one, not two but THREE organizations (including 2 in the AL where the DH is an option) who need hitting offer you a hot hitting “prospect”, you really need to wonder why they are so willing to trade him……

sorry to interrupt your braves story but i was jw craig if you were gonna run a storie on ernie hays today? he was a great man and a major part of the cards organization. I know stories about schilling’s bankruptcy and ozzie are interesting but this is real national story and i feel he should get some love…
