Cespedes is from the Dominican Republic? OK.

From what I understand, Colon and Ramirez tested positive for different substances. there has be no reporting saying that they are “close.”

For the record, I don’t watch MSNBC so that can’t be what is rotting my brain.

Peacock showed great promise in Washington, but has that really translated into Oakland. I dont think he is your 5th starter. I wouldn’t doubt the A’s sign another solid starter to push that rotation. The Nats started the year with 8 potential starters. With injuries and all, you can never have enough pitching.

So, you named three players that played with the A’s. Mr. Ramirez and Cespedes overlapped for about a moth in SPring training.

You say that it is well documented that Cespedes, Colon and Ramirez are close, I know of no such documentation. The only connection I see is they grew up speaking Spanish in another county.

That is your evidence? Really? Again, how is it not racist? I want to know.

Clyde’s right, he was regarded as a plus in the clubhouse, very loose and relaxed, and a rock when it was his turn to pitch. Also, depthis critical. The A’s front office has spoken repeatedly about the need for 8-9 guys who can start in the majors. They need to put 1400-1500 total high-quality innings on the field each year. If Bartolo can do 10% of that at 10% of the pitcher payroll, it works out.

Its starting rotation depth. Parker, Milone and Griffin pitched more innings last year than ever before. Blackley is not anything more than a 6th starter and They have staily and peacock in AAA.

Plus he was a well regarded person in the clubhouse, which surprised me.

It would be interesting to have every MLB player contract stipulate that if caught using a banned substance you would forfeit 75% of your salary and be required to play for the Oakland As for the remainder of the season.

If I were an A’s fan, I would not be happy with them keeping Colon over McCarthy. Besides the PED thing, Colon is 10 years older and that 3.43 ERA was his best in 6-7 years. I wouldn’t want to have to count on a repeat of that performance. Perhaps he will be used for long relief and spot starts.
