He, as a retired union member,receives a monthly pension. Someone as gregarious as him probably talked about when he received it so the criminals thought they would come and help themselves. After five years a player is entitled to a pension. The pension varies upon years in the majors and when they start collecting.

These guys are likely looking at 10-30 years. DR has a pretty bad (by US standards) rate at getting convictions, and things like cash “settlements” with family members will occasionally occur, but that seems unlikely here since these thugs sound like they are broke. The prisons are overcrowded, and the conditions terrible, but that sometimes causes a revolving door effect that can make stays short.

R.I.P. Pascual, lots of Dominicans watched you and wanted to be you.

If they get sentenced, they will do Hard Time in The DR. No three meals a day in temperature controlled cells with cable TV and hot showers. You dont eat if your family doesnt feed you. And you still might not eat unless you pay a guard to protect you while you eat!

Lets just hope that they cant buy their way out, and spend the rest of their miserable lives in a living hell.

I read that he was stabbed to death. Frightening. The depraved savages that committed this cold blooded murder should be publicly executed. MLB channel should broadcast it as pay per view, proceeds going to Perez’s family.
