Drew Stubbs can confirm this with his .277 OBP. Hamilton’s is .364 in the minors so far and a .410 across two leagues this season. If he continues to develop, he should be an improvement over the Reds current CF/leadoff hitter (offensively, at least).

All AB count, you don’t get to ignore poor performance for convenience….and the slump wasn’t just two weeks. He pretty much sucked for the entire month. What his slump did do was allow Harper to catch him in offensive performance, plus Harper played very good CF defense while Frazier was average at 3B/1B. That offensive production from CF is more valuable than it is from 3B/1B.

a 2 week slump at the start of sept. should not take away what he did the 3 months. if that is the case what about harper not hitting after the all star game until getting hot again sept.? I think he hit .180 something. and after rolen came back in sept. frazier did not get regular playing and a chance to break out that slump.

I watched half the game, and Billy Hamilton is the player who stood out the most by far. He did misplay a ball in center, but his base stealing, for those of us who appreciate small ball, was exquisite. I look forward to seeing more from this young man in the coming years.

Frazier’s hopes weren’t helped when he hit .181/.241/.261 (avg/obp/slg) in September while still getting regular playing time.

hopefully he does good enough in spring training he makes the club,but who are we kidding dusty baker is the same manager who preferred willie harris last year over Todd Frazier even after the spring he had. a guy who would have been ROY under any other manager was not good enough in Baker’s eyes over a guy who batted.089 for the reds before he was finally and reluctantly sent down after rolen and votto were injured.dusty did everything in his power to get willie going before he had no choice and had to play Frazier who only went on to help save the reds season. Frazier’s ROY hopes went down the drain the min. rolen was able to leave his walker and was immediatly made the starter again at third. that worked out really well for the reds didn’t it?
