I love Kuroda but the Yankees made him a qualifying offer, which means the Dodgers would lose their 1st round pick in the draft next June (19th overall). I’d rather they explore alternatives and hold on to their pick. They need to re-stock the farm system. They can’t simply spend their way to a championship.

If the Yankees are still interested, I don’t think there’s much chance of him going elsewhere. The Yankee organization has a real thing about “being able to handle New York.” Kuroda proved to them he could, and he wants a one year deal. That’s name your price territory in the Bronx.

Dodgers need to bring him back. Kershaw and Kuroda as a 1,2 is not bad at all.

i say go for it.

Cafardo is an absolute Red Sox homer AND dink at the same time, but take that out of the equation and I think the Dodgers have themselves a pretty sturdy starter.

Nick Cafardo said it so it must be true, .. right? I mean this is the same guy that was talking up Bobby Valentine this time last year;

“.. he’s exactly what this organization needs. If you want a man who is considered one of the best in-game managers and who has control of his team and the clubhouse, there is no one better available. ”

That was Cafardo’s opinion in October 2011. When was the last time Cafardo was right about anything?

I could see a lot of teams wanting Kuroda but Cafardo is just blowing smoke.

Good velocity, spots them low in the zone, and he’s a durable, big strong guy. A bargain on a one year deal. I really liked watching him pitch last season, even if it was for The Empire. Wherever he winds up I hope he does well.
