I agree with your first point, but not the second. They will have to pry baseball decisions out of Larry’s cold, sinister hands, but if he can take care of Business and let Baseball Ops do their thing, the team should be on the plus side of .500 next year. I don’t think they can make enough moves this offseason to be a serious contender, but they will not be as bad as they were in 2012.

Also, I don’t think it REALLY matters who the pitching coach is, but it will be interesting to see how this plays out, if only to gauge Larry’s involvement even in these kind of “minor” moves.

Hire him. He did works for Baltimore last year, (I know he wasn’t a pitching coach). We need to get Lester, Bard, Bailey, and a few others straightened out.

Bad news for the O’s. His work with our minor league system was just starting to show dividends. Would’ve been great to get a few more years out of him.

Victor Zambrano would look great in a Red Sox uniform. Not sure if he would pitch well, but the uniform would look good on him.

Let’s see if dad up in the front office (Lucchino) approves. If not, it’s indicative of the kind of decisions that are going to be made and the ones that will not be allowed to be made by the manager. I say be ready for another 90 loss season.
