I didn’t say Vernon Wells did anything wrong….except turn into a terrible player.

Which sounds just about right for the kind of players the Sox like to sign these days.

At this stage in his career, he is more of a “final piece” type. 2 year deal for decent money with a title contender sounds like what will happen.

Detroit seems like a no-brainer. Much weaker division, and the ability to hit in a lethal lineup next season with the return of Martinez.

The Nationals also might be a possibility.

Also, if the Rangers aren’t able to bring back Hamiliton, that would be a fit.

Just seems like a waste to go to Boston at this point.

What did Vernon Wells do wrong? His own team offered him a boatload of money to stay, and he took it. Can’t say I blame him one little bit there.
