They should at least talk to get a number, but I am sure the Padres like most teams wonder if Headley will sustain what he did in 2012 as it was a breakout year. Worst case, they do have him 2 more years.

BS. They plan to see if he puts up somewhat similar numbers starting off next year then get a long term deal done in the middle of the year. If 2012 was a flash in the pan, no deal, then they’ll deal him.
