Clearly many of you aren’t familiar with Hamilton’s past season. He had stretches of brilliance and stretches of extreme disinterest. Swinging at every pitch for about 1 month solid and often times caught laughing in batters box. Tons of AB’s were you could tell he wasn’t focused on playing baseball. He was an extreme rollercoaster thats went from fan favorite to being booed. Good riddance, let another team deal with his crap.

Nate is a good guy to have on the roster but he’s not an every day player. Hamilton would be a good addition but he’d have to accept a reasonable contract given his off-the-field issues and his recent lack of on-the-field consistency. Give McClouth a mil, offer Hamilton $12mil per year for 3 or 4 years and if he doesn’t take it, move on.

If you can get Hamilton, fine. But for 180 million or whatever nonsensical contract he wants? WHY?

Why not sign MCLOUTH? He was your ONLY threat to steal a base. And he hit pretty well too. And he’s pretty good defensively.

That would probably be the one guy besides Wieters that I say is untouchable. I’d consider trading Adam Jones or Nick Markakis before I let McClouth go.

Nate isn’t going to break the bank, and he has a whole lot of what the Orioles need. A guy who can get on base, and has speed. And he plays good defense as well.

Hamilton can hit, and it would be scary to see what his numbers would be with half his games being at Camden Yards. But… can he be trusted to stay healthy AND clean?

Outlandish to say he’ll overpay a big name. In reality, he’ll make a sheepish offer at Hamilton that will fall far short of competing offers just to make a piss poor attempt at saving face. That’s been the strategy in recent years.

Warning: Lego Death Star will take a solid three days to put together. It would be fantastic if Baltimore signed Hamilton….it would make baseball more interesting and may help secure Baltimore as a perennial contender….which would make things more interesting.

This would be a good destination for Josh. Smaller outfield, he could play left with Jones in center, and a good HR park. He still needs to work on pitch identification and plate discipline wherever he goes.

Also, the Orioles have plenty of money with their tv network.

But this is a pretty bold move. Is Angelos up for something like this?
