Yeah, 3/$51M for Jeter with a player option for a 4th is a really bad deal for Jeter. Looks like someone has been partaking in the CO/WA celebrations a bit too early...

I have to kinda say I think this is a non story. Since Mo has always been a Yankee (and as far as I know Scott Boras is not his agent) I would think that would pretty much be a given during the "I decided I am going to play in 2013" conversation. ...and I think the fact that he announced he was coming back BEFORE Soriano opted out and not after, shows this is not purely a money thing, and that he has respect for the only organization he has pitched for in the bigs. I am guessing the 13.3 million qualifying offer that Soriano is going to refuse, will be about the same as the amount on Mo's contract when all is said and done.

A dangerous game? This man has done it all. And hes done it all for one team.

He would simply retire before he moved on to another team. Its not like he needs the money.

Sure call me an ignorant Yankee fan - but if you can close your eyes and imagine enter sandman playing and Mo running in from the bullpen in a Washington Nationals uniform, then your probably drunker than Diane Sawyer was last nite.

But as we sit here now, not knowing what the injury and the time off will do to Rivera’s cutter, the leverage here is definitely on the Yankees’ side.
