Dan could probably pitch for several more years just on smarts (especially in the NL), but give the Cubs credit for realizing that it shouldn’t cost them 12 million for a player with this level of risk. Plus Haren is probably better off as well; may have to take less money but can pick the team that gives him the best chance for success, and that team is never the Cubs…..
