Rumor has it Corey Hart objected to a proposed contract clause that would have required him to wear his sunglasses at night.

I’m not too worried about Morris yet. He hasn’t played a full season at Triple A so there’s little chance he makes the club right out of spring anyways. They’d rather have him playing full time in triple A then getting bench time in the Big’s. Gamel certainly is in an interesting situation.

We wait to see if Morris can do it again before we worry about it. The road to hell is paved with good intentions and guys who had one great year in the minors.

The real question is what to do with Hunter Morris? Guy hits crazy in minors and Gamel has done nothing at the major league level. Nothing but a bat off the bench. I say we trade Gamel. Someone will take a chance on him. Signing a core Guy who wants to stay here and has been very productive is a huge plus!

Gamel either needs to earn a spot off the bench or they should consider trading him. I wish we had the chance to see Gamel for a whole season but unfortunately he got hurt. I dont think anyone really knows what we’re going to get from him at this point. Aoki in RF after last season and his japan pro career and Hart at 1B are proven performers. I think we have to go into spring with thoes guys penciled in as the starters right now. Gamel can play 3b, 1B and outfield so he does have some versatility which is a huge plus. His fielding has never been his strong suit though.

He’s a Gold Glove front runner at 1B if he had played the full season. At 6’6″, he’s a full 8 inches taller than fielder and provides an enourmous target for fellow infielders. He’s much-maligned by Brewer fans for being streaky, but the guy always talks about wanting to play here and do so for a reasonable price and has outperformed his current deal. They guy can even bat leadoff if you need him. Only question is, what do they do with Mat Gamel?

I like the sound of this, especially if they keep him at 1B.
