The Nats have pretty deep pockets, too, as evidenced by the two $100 million contracts they already have on their payroll. Unless they are going after Greinke, which I doubt, they should have plenty of money to pay LaRoche as none of the other big name free agents really make much sense for them at the price they’ll likely command.
