Red Sox are not interested in Napoli to catch every day. Because he has had great success at Fenway Park as a hitter, they need to add bats to the lineup. Besides, they presently have three catchers with major league experience on the roster – having just signed David Ross. So, there primary interest is to have him play first base – if the price and years are right and they can’t get someone who is better defensively like Adam LaRoche.

Cardinals. Unless they want to pay through the nose for a back-up. There’s probably others. But any team that has a question mark at the position is probably going to go after Napoli, despite his flaws.

Kinda have to laugh because about an hour ago and five posts previous is the “Rangers are interested in Russell Martin” story. …Speaking of Mendoza line type BA….did hit a lot of homers this year though..lol.

Since you did mention that .220 BA and noodle arm, I think he would be a fine addition to either the Yankees or the Red Sox.

Rangers fan: So long Mike, I loved your bat but hated your noodle arm and ability to block the plate. 8 mil per year and you’d probably be with Texas again, however you want more for that .220 BA and 2-3 months missed. We’ll have to go with Soto and MISC catcher.
