WTG, Giambino.

This guy is class, from cap to cleats. Clearly, he understood the situation, and he made the right decision; what a good role model he has become for every young player in MLB.

He made some mistakes; he learned from them, and he got on with his life.

I’m proud of you Jayson; keep on keepin’ on.

Make Giambi the manager, and bring in McGwire as the hitting coach. That I would watch.

i don’t think his respect for Weiss – or, more accurately, his respect for the position Weiss was put into – will or should stop him from accepting. Giambi is showing his respect now, when it counts, by backing him as a manager. If he is no longer the manager, nothing should prevent him from accepting — except he would have learned that he maybe would like a 2 year contract….

It’s that kind of comment and attitude that leans heavily that he will be an excellent manager, at least on the player respect level. If that is indeed his reasoning for declining that is a very well thought out and measured decision. Gotta respect it
