Cuban’s smart enough to want a franchise that has a loyal and LARGE baseball fan base. Cubs are one. There are many others. Unfortunately Miami is still football first, and basketball second…and baseball somewhere after jai a lai and dog racing…though the Heat are doing their best to move up in popularity.

There are many loyal baseball fans in Miami…just not enough of them to shell out the dough for 80 sellout games.

Cuban would actually be a really good owner, but a vocal one that has no problem calling out the league management on various issues…ie. Bud Selig would be brought to the mat and chewed out in public. Other owners know better. I think that is why Selig does not want Cuban.

Cuban has been much quieter lately than when he first got the Mavericks, but that fire would light up again once he owns a MLB team and learns the ins and outs of the league operations first hand. Selig likes the power and the obedient owners!
