My favorite Nolasco memory? Well, a buddy of mine went to high school with him in So Cal, and one time I got free tickets to the A’s game when the Marlins were in town for inter league play. I am by no means a defender of Jeffrey Loria. He’s as big a P.O.S. as there is.

But let me ask you this. What’s your all-time favorite Ricky Nolasco moment since he’s been on the club. Can you name any moment at all? Did he even play for the Marlins? Have any of you ever said to your family, “Kids, we have to get tickets to the Marlins game tonight. Ricky Nolasco is pitching”? I mean, who the hell is Ricky Nolasco?

Good riddance.

So trading Nolasco for prospects is fine with me. The problem is Loria probably won’t use the saved money on someone worth it. I hope he proves me wrong. But he won’t. And that’s the problem.

It will show the fans that he is going to re-invest in the team, hopefully wiser this time. And the no-trade will show fans, Stanton, and potential free agents that he has a TRUE commitment to putting a good and sustained product on the field.

Nobody expects a World Series team. Fans will be happy with a team that’s fun to watch.

The Marlins’ problems did not include Josh Johnson, Mark Buehrle, or Jose Reyes. Those guys played well enough; all three were pretty close to their career norms. You could argue their contracts aren’t worth it in the long term but to blame 2012 on them is totally misguided.

They didn’t make a whimper last year. I understand people are mad at Loria. Less than a year after being “all in”, they take an abrupt turn. But, even so, they weren’t going to compete at a high level with the guys they had.

Easy to bitch about the greedy owner, and Loria deserves it plenty. But with all due respect to the ex and soon to be ex-Marlins, you guys totally suck. And you’re boring. Every single one of you made watching the Marlins an experience that could best be described as somewhere between frustrating and miserable.

Won’t miss any of you.

The real problem isn’t the trades that went down this week. It’s really about the Miguel Cabrera trade.
That one will hurt forever.

Tell youvwhat Loria needs tovdo. Give Stanton a 10 year/ $200 mil/No Trade deal today. I think Marlin fans will see things differently if he did that
