Poking dimwits is not an admirable quality BUT being a dimwit isn’t admirable either. Far be it for me to tell you not to poke dimwits. I’ve done the same many a time. What I’m always surprised by is the level of vehemence some people employ when they see someone’s wrong about something. It is as though they can’t wait to correct others and call them names over it. While it doesn’t speak well for you or I to be poking the differently smart, its not like you went out of your way to name call back. On the whole I find the “Victorino is Italian” schtick to be pretty funny. I find the “shout at and ridicule others if they appear to be wrong” pretty appalling. Enjoy your sport with the dullard: nothing in his behaviour moves me to sympathy for him.

Not really surprising there’s that much interest. I don’t see him making unrealistic demands and he brings great value in the field. I really do wonder if the Phillies are one of those 8.

As far as hitting, I thought he should just stop batting left handed. As a righty this year he hit .323/.388/.518 with an OPS of .906 in 186 PA’s. As a lefty he hit .229/.296/.333 with an OPS of .629 in 472 PA’s. His career splits are not as drastic, but there is still a big difference. He learned to hit lefty in the minors and his swing does not look natural. Can’t help but think he’d be more productive at the plate staying as a righty.
