Buster’s the real thing. He’ll be around for a long time (injuries notwithstanding) and he will be a major force in baseball as long as he plays. Hopefully, his career will continue to be with the Giants!

I totally agree with you, kicksave. Molina is by far the better defensive catcher and had a compareable offensive year to Posey. Also with me, nothing against Posey, I congratulate the young man on his accomplishments and skills. I honestly thought Molina was at least as valuable a player as Buster considering Yadi’s defensive superiority. Congratulations to Yadi on his 5th straight Gold Glove and the National League’s Platinum Glove award this year.

Love the Posey. How can you not love a guy who looks like a choir boy, is called Buster, and plays like satan with his hair on fire? Though not a SF fan I was bummed at his injury last year, great to see him bounce back with a vengeance.

Players lie Posey are good for the team they play for, and good for MLB overall. Two time WS champ in three years (I know he didn’t do this alone). Absolutely Jeter-like. Don’t bum Gigantes fans, if he becomes as hated as Jeter he has done an awful lot awfully well.

Seriously, how can anyone not love Poser?!

Having said that, he is the first Catcher in MLB to win the MVP since Mauer in 2009. That’s it.

And yes I am again railing against how silly it is to continue to distinguish the AL & NL from one another as it pertains to records and awards.

MLB should have one MVP, one Cy Young, one ROY and one MOY. One set of Gold Glove winners, etc . . .

And don’t tell me how ridiculous this sounds. According to CEO Selig the fans demanded inter-league. And with inter-league comes the realization that the significance of league records and awards have been diminished.

And that will become even more obvious this season when we have inter-league all the time.

No name-calling, just an argument: In this era of 30 teams*, and needing to win 11-12 postseason games to win the WS, winning it twice in 3 years, losing just one WS game, could be considered a nascent dynasty. (*30 teams means there must always be at least one team with a 30-year drought; well, 29 years, plus the Cubs.)
