As for the “angry porcupine,” meh. At least they didn’t just recycle an animal used by other teams. And it seems that these days, teams (not just minor league ones) have to present angry mascots. Appeals to adolescent boy demographic, which drives merchandise sales.

The important thing is that the team will get back to its own park, after the renovation. After spending 2012 sleeping in the spare bedrooms of the Rochester Red Wings and other IL teams.
