Josh is not worthy of a movie. As his salary jumps his hitting and fielding gets more erratic – according to him because of “physical problems”. There are many more players more worthy of a bio than he and coming from a Rangers fan Josh is not very appreciative of how the club has helped him back. His story is not complete and at this point was drifting downward.

This could be become a big distraction for Josh and whatever team signs him. Success sometimes gets to his head and that’s when the problems often begin.

It didn’t hurt Moneyball. The A’s didn’t win it all at the end but its was still a good story and movie.

I honestly don’t see where this guy has earned a bio-pic at this point. There’s a basic bounce back story that’s semi-interesting, but once it gets the Hollywood touch, this is going to end up being a cloying After School Special with Kirk Cameron. He hasn’t done much this season to make himself likable, either.

Hollywood has completely run out of ideas for movies, so they just pick up the newspaper for ideas. Hamilton has a very interesting story, but it isn’t over yet.

I suppose with all of the development time Hamilton missed, it should not be surprising that his formidable talents are still a bit raw. I wonder if his relatively advanced age will hinder him from making the adjustments and developing the skills (i.e., laying off breaking balls 3 feet outside) that would really push him into elite territory.

1. Larry Doby (no more to be said)
2. Rick Ankiel (amazing downfall, even more amazing comeback)
3. Joe Charboneau (one of the craziest people to every play the game)
4. Pete Rose (he had a scandal in there somewhere, right)
5. Tony Conigliaro (this one would be depressing)
6. Roberto Clemente (this one would also be depressing)
7. Curt Flood (for fighting the power…and losing…but indirectly winning in the end)
8. Wade Boggs (fried chicken and extra-martial affairs)
9. Doc Ellis (movie must be watched on LSD)
10. Lyman Bostock (tragic, awful death)

Ya think? I would gather the movie will focus how Hamilton struggled to overcome his addiction. But what if he relapses before the movie is released?

It is an interesting story. But yea, losing the World Series two years in a row doesn’t exactly make for a great movie ending.

Read his book. It would make for a heck of a movie. Wish he’d have picked up as WS in TX, though. That WOULD have been a good one.
