I dont think any west coast teams were interested

Last season Dodgers couldn’t spend bc of the McCourts

And the angels were focused on CJ Wilson

This off season both teams need pitching and have the money

Maybe they’ll just forfit the season??

Or, maybe they deal with it when itin fact becomes a reality? I’m sure they’ll figure it out. Besides, the Jays finished 22 behind the Yankees so just losing Kuroda isn’t making up that difference.

Interetsting. Rumor last year was that he wanted to pitch on the West Coast, yet he went to NY. I wouldn’t give much credence to this. If Kuroda stays in the US, he will sign with a team that has a chance to win.

Don’t know which team he sees as having a chance to win.

Sabathia is not a good comparison because the Yankees offered more money than ANY other team by far. If I remember correctly the Brewer’s offered him about 95 million and the Yankees initial offer was about 140 million and when that didn’t work they bumped it by about 25 mil. When other teams saw that it was apparent Sabathia would end up with the Yankees.

The real issue is will the Yankees offer him much more than other teams in order to keep him.

Dodgers general manager Ned Colletti told ESPN.com’s Jayson Stark on Monday that he ran into the free agent on Sunday night in a hotel lobby and the left-hander told him that he wants to be a Dodger.

CC is one example…almost every player that touts family reasons for a decision wind up making the decision based on something else, usually money…sometimes winning. Yes, players are somewhat different….despite those differences, they mostly make decisions based on the same set of priorities. I am not saying there is anything wrong with those priorities, just that it is true.

Craig, every single player is different, do not use C.C. under that same category. Sabathia was all about money, always was. He laughed at the idea the Indians offered him a $20 Million a year contract, if he had been about family, he would have stayed then. Because this was coming off a 97 win season, and back then, the Indians had every indication they would continue winning, then of course C.C. had a bad first half, and the rest they say is history. Kuroda from all indications never wanted to leave Los Angeles in the first place, it was the Dodgers who weren’t interested.
