The Brewers are holding a uniform design contest

Let’s face it: With award season behind us and Thanksgiving looming, it’s pretty boring out there in the baseball world. But the Brewers are doing something pretty cool right now.

The Brewers began taking submissions yesterday in a uniform design contest, dubbed “Design A YOUniform.” The winner will be invited to spring training to see the team wear their design on the field in a game.

You can take a look at the early submissions by clicking here. There’s already quite a few cool designs in there. The deadline for entries is December 13.

    My two favorites are;

    1. The away jersey that is yellow with a blue Milwaukee across the chest and blue sides and blue collar by Nicholas in Madison, WI

    2. The white with the old logo on the right with the number on the left and yellow and blue trim by Ron in Catonsville, MD

    Spandex. All spendex.

In all seriousness, if doing this, why not take a stab at changing the actual uniform, not just dabbling with color schemes? Different shape, material…anything

The Brew crew never should have abandoned the 80’s pinstripes and mitt logo… The current unis are just boring. I would like to see a change

That MB mitt logo is the greatest logo in the history of sports, as far as I’m concerned. That thing should be as sacred as the Yankees “NY” or the Cubs “C”. It’s a perfect logo and they should bring it back as the primary logo yesterday, and it should stay, unblemished, forever. And this is coming from a Twins fan who makes a point of hating the Brewers because they used to be owned by the prick who tried to contract my team.

Actually the prick that tried to contract your team was your own owner for offering up his team to the chopping block but yeah Bud sucks pretty bad himself.

I agree. That “MB” mitt logo was a true baseball classic. I’m not a Brewers fan, but that logo was one of the best in MLB. I’d love to see them use that one again.

I wish I had the talent to win this contest but my submission would be the equivalent of the car Homer Simpson designed.

I see no logical reasons as to why bubble domes would not be useful in automobiles.
Just look at the cars the ‘Jetson’s’ have, they are hundreds of years ahead of us!

      • brewcrewfan54 - Nov 17, 2012 at 12:11 PM

Nothing like a car mixing bubble domes of the future with tail fins from the 40’s. The car was really just way ahead of its time.

I’m rooting for the uniform depicting a Native person drawn cartoonlike by a 15-year-old suburban kid. That ought to stick around more than 50 years.

  6. brewcrewfan54 - Nov 17, 2012 at 11:18 AM

Wow, were there a lot of awful designs there so far. Actually may have to give this a shot because I couldn’t do worse than some of these.

How is the winner not automatically The Beers unis from Baseketball?

  8. onbucky96 - Nov 17, 2012 at 1:04 PM

Ugh. Another jersey 2 buy? Let’s see…home white, retro home, alternate home, negro legue bears retro, italian day jersey, cervaceros jersey, road grey, alternate road, AND retro road. Nine jerseys by my count, and I can’t remember if they had Camo for armed services’ days. I am a sucker for retro and Cervaceros, but enough is enough.

    • brewcrewfan54 - Nov 17, 2012 at 1:15 PM

You don’t have to buy any of them ya know.

If they wanna be in sync with their fans, make sure it has a vomit stain on the front .

    • brewcrewfan54 - Nov 18, 2012 at 10:09 AM

No, we can hold our booze up here.
