Deshais was the main reason I continued to watch every Astro game this year…

It certainly was not for the teams play. If Houston dismissed him, that’s despicable !

He is awesome…. This sucks to hear.

I think Deshaies is outstanding, one of the better TV voices in baseball broadcasting. Knowledgeable, funny, completely devoid of that anal, self-absorbed McCarver inanity. But I’d be more interested to see how JD would do working broadcasts of…you know…a good team.

Not familiar with Deshaies, but he sure does seem loved in Houston. Hope they poach him rather than hire any of the lackluster talent mentioned in their contenders list.

That’s a shame, Plesac would have been a great addition… Some entertainment is sorely needed to make the Cubbies long seasons during the rebuild palatable.

Always good when you get a Doug “Warning Track” Glanville reference.

I’ve never seen a guy hit more fly balls to the warning track in my life. It was uncanny. He’d go to LA and hit 3 fly outs to the track, then head to Col, and hit 5, then come home, and do it 4 more times.

If you got some kind of stat for “close to a HR”, he’d be a HOF candidate
