I was just going to say something about how this is the last guy the BrewCrew needs to sign.
I understand their thinking, that Dempster always pitches well against the Crew in Milwaukee so it would be a good fit for him….but as you said, we know how this will end up.

Why not instead get a stud bullpen arm? Soriano and Axford at the back end?

So let me get this straight. The Crew signed Suppan for multiple years, which didn’t quite work out. Then got Wolf for multiple years, which didn’t quite work out. Now they want Dempster for multiple years.

Any takers on how it ends? I’m guessing one good year then falls apart the next one-two, as history has shown.

Considering the main needs of the Red Sox, pitching, outfield help and 1st base and short stop there are some pretty decent players that are FA’s. For Example in Pitchers: Anibal Sanchez, Zack Greinke, Edwin Jackson and Kyle Lohse. In the outfield: Nick Swisher, Cody Ross and Michael Bourn and until just recently B.J. Upton. All of those players or anyone of them fit a Red Sox need and are young. So the FA class especially for what the Red Sox needs are really isn’t weak. They just need to spend some of that money they saved from dumping Gonzalez, Crawford and Beckett’s contracts.

Why is it that as soon as a free agent is even linked to Red Sox all the trolls bash it? So far they’ve signed two guys for a grand total of 16 million. Yes they might have paid too much but the free agent class this year is weak. I’d rather the Sox sign guys to short deals than have a team of players who are overpaid and have to worry about renewing their AARP subscription this off season.

I wouldn’t get too stressed. Sox and Phillies fans are the most sensitive on this blog. Phillies fans will come around when they realize it’s all in fun. Sox fans, not so much.

I bet they are trading away Lester for Myers and are taking dempster to fill his spot for now. And now the sox are interested in Wilson, maybe sox will trade a closer to the royals in a package deal including Lester either baily or Wilson for Myers and a minor league pitcher in which they got from the pirates in a recent deal.
