I'm a Red Sox fan and actually think its great he's coming back.

Rivera deserves to go out on his own terms. I'm not hoping he's going to have an All Star caliber year (and at 43, if that's all he really is, I doubt he will) but he's been great for baseball and every true baseball fan should be able to admit that.

He deserves a swan song and some appreciation around the league this season.

With Riveras timetable to return, he should be 100% healthy. And at his age, the extended rest could be great for his arm. I doubt he will lose any movement on his cutter, maybe a little velocity. Will he be dominant, maybe not, but i expect plenty more broken bats, wiffs, and saves for this sure fire hall of famer.

Good deal. Rivera was great last year before he injured himself and there is no reason to think he won't be effective this year. If he isn't, it's only a one year deal.

NY needs to lock up Martin . No better alternative out there and the younger fellows are either not far enough along or too risky injury-wise not to. People don't realize that Martin has been worth what he is asking for, and if lightning were to strike with one of the young fellows they could probably trade him and get something of value - several teams are courting him now.

I wouldn't have mind seeing them take a look at Soria and maybe save some money in the process, i wouldn't have brought Rivera back for 10 mil, just seems like a waste of money

Completely forgot about him. I really like how Cashman has built the bullpen. Pay money for an elite reliever (Mo), and scrap the barrel for the rest (Eppley, Wade, Aardsma, etc).

Excellent news. Now let's just hope Rivera doesn't have any lingering effects from his injury. And it's in keeping with the Yankees desire to keep to 1 year deals with most of these players preparing for the 2014 season and getting under the Tax Threshold.
Looks like now just the Right Field position which I think will come down to Ichiro as the 1st choice or perhaps Victorino as the fall back position. Then Catcher and as much as I hate to say this I think there is probably at least a 75% chance Martin returns on a 3 year deal.
