Yeah, I’m not sure it’s a good idea to give a 4 year (probably at around $10-12M per) contract to a 31 yr old OF with no power that doesn’t take walks and that has had 2.5 good years so far….the room for error for such a skill set is small.

He will not leave the Giants. Why would he go to locker room in Philly that isn’t even close to being as strong as the Giants. His words in every interview were about how strong of a bond he his locker room has. No chance he leaves SF.

I still say the Phillies should get Victorino back. He had a bad contract year. In the end, over the next 3 seasons, would he provide so much less value than a $15-17 million per year Bourn? He certainly is right there with Pagan who now appears to be heading to too many years for too much per year as well. I’m not saying Victorino is the perfect answer but if you have to settle on someone like Pagan anyway, why not take the less expensive route and upgrade elsewhere as well?

Pagan was fun to watch last year and has some tremendous heart, but it scares me that the Giants have offered him four years. He’s coming off a career year, and doesn’t have much of an inspiring record before that. Anything past three years should be a deal breaker.

Torres doesn’t make any sense. Hasn’t been worth a darn since 2010.
Victorino would be a good option for SF if Phills overpay for Pagan.
