Getty Images From ESPN’s Buster Olney comes word that nine teams called the representatives for outfielder Nate Schierholtz in the first 12 or so hours after he was non-tendered on Friday evening by the Phillies.
The Yankees, who are in the hunt for a right fielder, are one of the teams that expressed quick interest.
Schierholtz batted .257/.321/.407 with six homers and 21 RBI across 269 plate appearances this past season between San Francisco and Philadelphia.
The 28-year-old is a .270/.319/.409 career hitter in the major leagues. In 2011, he hit nine homers and tallied 41 RBI in 362 plate appearances for San Fran.

Nate sheirholtz didn’t play for Philly in 2011, he was still on the giants, he didn’t go to Philly until the hunter pence trade

Did you read the article?? Cause it clearly says in 2011 he played for SAN FRAN……never says what year he actually played in Philly……just SAN FRAN. He is a bum anyways, let the Yankees sign him and burn money. Otherwise the Phillies would have tendered him a contract.
