Bogaerts is a Top Ten prospect according to Perfect Game and another minor league list I saw. He was the youngest player in his AA league last season and won't turn 21 'til Nov. of 2013. Tremendous bat speed and generates a ton of power for a kid that's not even filled out.
I'm not reluctant to trade good players from the farm system but there's zero chance I'd trade a prospect with his upside for a 38 year-old pitcher...much less throw in Jackie Bradley Jr.

Not sure what lists your working from, but after this past season Bogaerts is a Top 5 prospect on the level of Machado/Profar. Perhaps holding him back is that he is still growing and the Red Sox aren't sure what position to track him for. He could be ML ready this year at age 20.

Actually, the Red Sox farm system isn't in too bad shape. Most of the top prospects are a little further down in the system and won't be major-league ready for another year or two. But there is plenty of great talent at the High A and AA level. This was a consequence of Boston drafting more high school players rather than from the college pool.

This comment and my response aren't about Dickey, they are about the fact that the RS were in dicussions for Reyes and Johnson and the Marlins wanted Bogaerts and Bradley for them and the RS said "no thanks", whereas the Blue Jays were willing to give up some decent prospects as well as to pick up just about the entire tab (including taking on Buck).

Well seeing how the Blue Jays just traded away 4 of their top 10 prospects I doubt they'll be giving up an equal amount as Bogaerts and Bradly Jr. Seriously, they'd be giving up 6 of their top 10... for one year of Dickey.
