In a way, this makes me nervous. When the local spawrts pandits were speculatin' on a hypothesis (they know they don't know nuthin') they figgered that Escobar was going to play third, thus perpetuating the Feesh strategy of trying not to play a third baseman at third. Now, if he's moved, there's the risk that the Feesh will retrieve an actual third baseman off the scrapheap in the Rule 5 draft and destroy a beautiful tradition.

It doesn't really matter, though - hardly anyone will be watching next season, and those who do watch will only be watching because they're sheep.

Frankly, I'm fine with him going to any of those AL East teams. A Red Sox team with new adds Victorino, Napoli and maybe Escobar? Not exactly boot shaking. When I saw the Red Sox mentioned I also thought the same thing, that Farrell cannot possibly want anything else to do with this guy.

He's not coming to the Red Sox. While neither Farrell or Escobar publicly said there were any problems between them, they had numerous one-on-one discussions in hopes of remedying "baseball issues."
