I’m sorry. But the amount of additional money that he would have made would have been irrelevant to the phillies. If the league rules in favor of schwimmer it will set a vet bad precedent for all players to claim they are hurt before being sent down.

Nate Schierholz was coming off the DL, either Schimmer of Jeremey Horst had to go down to make room. Horst had a 1.15 ERA.

I recall reading that a 2nd (and possibly a 3rd?) opinion were negative for injury before he reported to Lehigh Valley. Where is the basis for grievance?

Exactly….I don’t care what you think of the merits of the case, the guy sucks.

Ohhhh, and at the time he was sent down, they guy had gone 3 weeks with an ERA in the 3′s…..well below his career avaegae. If he was hurt when demoted, he shuold try to stay injured

Heh – everyone would give him the benefit of the doubt if it had been Scrooge McLoria who sent him down. The buffoon and the Chihuahua have a reputation for taking guys aside and threatening them with the minors for any number of reasons – often, right in front of their teammates. Just add that to the list of reasons why they’re so widely detested.

That should be good for his worthless career. The guy never said he was hurt until they sent him to the minors because he sucked then his arm was sore. Normal x rays and MRI. OK now it’s time to sink or Schwim.
