I don’t think Swisher is ‘deciding’ where to play. I think he has gotten a dose of reality. Yankees couldn’t wait for that contract to expire. They would probably prefer an orange cone in right field – probably would get the same or slightly better defense out of the cone.

Not a market for him…………….

And the Orioles continue to nothing in free agency. Make the playoffs for the first time in 15 years and proceed to rest on your laurels as everyone else in the division gets better. Good move.

Not saying losing Reynolds is the end of the world, but they need to do something. So far all they’ve done is lose Saunders and Reynolds. No additions to make the team better.

they dumped a few of them, but do you sacrifice k’s for the power? if francona can put him in the right situation in the line up then it might recreate his 2009 season. but like I said before, he will be gone by august fo rmore prospects, meantime jimenez will still be pitching solidly—poor.

You know….if the Phillies signed Reynolds, it would have been cheaper, and he’s better than Young….they are equally horrible defenders at 3B (but at least Reynolds can play 1B), but Reynolds is the far superior offensive player. There were a lot of alternatives to Young, all of them more likely to turn out better.

So much for the starry-eyed who thought the Feesh would make a serious play for Reynolds. They’ve been saying they were looking for someone with some pop to “protect” the Iron Giant but there’s no one with any “pop” left out there that they would want to pay for.

But really, who in their right minds would come and play for this bunch of their own free will?

Let’s give the Indians some credit here though, they did not wait, and in the process upgraded their offense. I still believe Youkilis can choose the Indians and they can mix and match 1B and DH. I also think they should do the same thing with Cody Ross, while Swisher is trying to decide where to play.
