The umpire in this game made it a show because Ichiro was pitching. Japanese umpires are very very professional and on top of their game. No need for the pitcher or the hitter to have to find out what the strike zone is each game because it’s the same from ump to ump.

After watching all of this I have come to two conclusions:
1) the NBP AS Game is awesome.
2) Strike calls in Japanese are awesome.

I already knew Ichiro was awesome.

This makes the shitshow money grab known as the MLB All-Star Game look like a money grab shit show.

Do it like this Bud and then maybe we’d care, but you have most of the players elected by fans wanting to get out of the game by the 3rd so they can go on their fishing trip early. AND they have an extra day to enjoy their trip. Why do we need a 4 day All Star break?

I know you want to have World Series Game 7 on Christmas Day to compete with the NBA games, Bud.

i always wondered why they didn’t use him in a couple of those extra inning games the last couple of years. still more proof eric wedge is all mustache, no game.

and it looked like matsui was set to hit, then they subbed in the other guy. would have liked to see that matchup.

Ichiro is the man. Wow, the Japanese All-Star game looks like a great time. A fun exhibition for the the fans, no pressure, where their best position player can come in and get the save. Wish America did this. Wait?…
