Probably, some team that tried and failed to get someone else might panic and up the ante. Unlikely, but stranger things have happened.

I would think that if another team was going to offer LaRoche three years they would have done so by now. The market for first basemen doesn’t seem to be very hot this year.

I always thought LaRoche would have a breakout year. And who knows, if he stops hitting, maybe he can learn the eephus pitch from his dad and become a pitcher.

Davey being Davey. His glass is half-full, and his thoughts can be wishful sometimes.

There’s still no hurry. If Adam can get 3 years somewhere else, more power to him. Michael Morse isn’t a shabby alternative at 1B. If Adam can’t get 3 years, he knows he’s welcome in Washington. And Rizzo can see what he get for Morse. Too bad they can’t keep both, but that’s not feasible, now that Morse doesn’t have the LF slot available.
