Jim Riggleman, who quit managing the Nationals in the middle of the 2011 season due to acrimonious contract negotiations and spent this year managing the Reds’ Double-A team, has been promoted to Triple-A.

Riggleman will manage Louisville of the International League, which is Cincinnati’s affiliate. He had a 68-70 record at Double-A while managing, among others, fastest man in baseball and top prospect Billy Hamilton.

When he stepped down as Nationals manager they had a 38-37 (.503) record. Since then they’ve gone 138-107 (.563) under Davey Johnson.
