Fan favorite for years who earned his way on the team to be a key contributor in 2010 run to WS. Great character and clubhouse guy. The Giants are all about small ball at AT&T now, so adding more speed with a player we are familiar with makes sense…especially at $2M. He will add more depth off the bench as a pinch hitter or runner and as the post mentions…can get time in LF/CF. This effectively replaces the role Burriss filled off the bench.

Lots of rumors about Hairston or Swisher still swirling out there with the Giants mentioned as one of the suitors. So it shall be interesting how the roster shuffles now that we have a full OF/bench with the addition of Torres.
