Do you honestly think this post is going to stop people from making these jokes? Just curious about what you think your impact on the world is. I don’t think your post will stop people from saying these things. Just like I don’t think this comment will stop you from writing stupid things like this EVERY DAY. You do a good job organizing all of the news stories and that’s why i continue to visit your site. But i’m really tired of hearing your whiney opinions. I totally agree, but doubt he can hold off self destruction long enough for a World Series victory. That window has closed. His disease has progressed to the point he hears God speaking directly to him. These types of delusions are indicative of clinical Schizophrenia, or a break with reality. It’s not a religious question any longer, but a serious mental illness, and doubtful the Angels will reap any benefit from becoming his new enabler.

Is it my imagination or is there more illiteracy and incoherence around the blog than usual? I’m not complaining mind you. I find all the jibberish kinda charming. its like when my 3 year old nephew comes over. He makes about as much sense as some of these comments. My issue with JH and his addictions is that he was “cured” by turning to religion. Anyone that needs a crutch like that to stop self-destructive behavior is more than likely going to use again.

Look at all the self-loathing gay men who, rather than accept themselves for who they are, go into the clergy. Yeah, that sure stops them from being gay.

That is an imperfect analogy, obviously. If a gay person accepts who they are and becomes comfortable with it, they have as good of chance for a happy life as anyone.

Hamilton is a degenerate drug user. There is no happy ending for him, and, likely, anyone around him. Now that his fortune is made he has far less reason to keep it in check.

Hamilton may lead the Angels to the World Series…but it’s about as likely that two years from now people are going to be wishing they still had Torii Hunter.

Kinda sad to see the amount of tweets/comments all over the Josh Hamilton threads saying that he is going to become a drug addict again because he’s coming to LA.. I am very positive that with people like Pujols and CJ around him this is not going to happen. I hope that they hire someone just like the Rangers did to be his 24/7 sponsor. If the Angels are dropping $25-mil a year on Hamilton, I’d imagine he will have very few “private” moments over the next five years. Of course, if he doesn’t pan out, they can take the leash off, let him pop a top or two, and void his contract. You can bet there is an air-tight clause in it pertaining to substance abuse. You don’t sign an addict to a five year, $125-million deal and not include an escape hatch when one is obviously required.
