LOL so now it’s the “Anaheim” Angels again? Of course he never drive over to LA LOL.Time to take your heads out of the sand. I mean I know Texas has some celebrities like say Buck Owens but he’s going to be surrounded by the Hollywood crowd and all the seedy hangers on and pushers. There is no place like LA He couldn’t stay straight in Arlington he will have no chance in LA.That is the truth even if you can’t stand to hear it..

Good luck keeping Hamilton sober in LA. Hard enough to do in the bible belt. He may experience some intial success, but in the long run the deal will hurt the Angels. I’m glad he is moving on.

Reactionary comment. Time to grow up.

LA TV leads the country in local ads for dependency rehab (as well as for shrinks and lawyers).

There may well be more recovering dependency people in SoCal then anywhere else in the world.

Mr. Hamilton will be set-up with some good people. He will have a strong support group and some of the best professional people to help him stay on course.

The Rangers have a TV deal worth billions (starting in 2014 I believe). DFW is the fourth largest MSA in the nation. Oakland won the division last year on tiny payroll. The Rays are perennial contenders in the AL East, which was nearly won by Baltimore and their tiny payroll last year. There is still competition.

The Rangers also signed a TV-deal worth billions and play in a major market. The front office seems adept at evaluating talent, especially internationally. I don’t think one signing by the Angels makes a huge difference (their rotation is still shaky). Baseball is not easy to predict.

the Rangers have done a pretty good job of out-evaluating the Angels over the past couple of years.

Sad to say Craig but with this kind of money it will be less and less about out evaluating,managing,strategy,scouting or anything else that the game used to be at least somewhat about………..might as well just follow the business news and take enjoyment from who has amassed the greatest fortune from year ro to year…………something pure has been lost as well as any semblence of competitve balance. Of course one solution could be to arrange divisions by wealth of ownership rather than geography..

No, it wasnt, and this is just another key part of a back to back world series team that has departed. The Angels are better, the Athletics are good, the Mariners and Astros are still bad. So its a 3 headed race. Gotta favor the Angels next season now.

So not only are you giving the AL West to the Angels, but you’re calling the Texas-Angels rivalry the best? Who won the AL West last year? And not on some random, winning all your 1 run games type thing, the A’s pythagorean record was very close to the real thing. The A’s have to be the most ignored, disrespected team in baseball compared to their actual results on the field. How does another slugger make up for the fact that the Angels’ 3-4 starters are Tommy Hanson and Joe Blanton?
